Congratulating the distinguished recipients of the Padma Awards, one of the highest civilian honours in the country, the Hon'ble Governor said that their exceptional service and achievements in various fields would continue to inspire society and future generations.
From Karnataka, Shatavadhani Dr. R. Ganesh was conferred the Padma Bhushan, while Shri Ankegowda M., Dr. S.G. Susheelamma, Dr. Prabhakar Kore, Shri Shashi Shekhar Vempati, Dr. Shubha Venkatesha Iyengar, Dr. Suresh Hanagavadi and Late Shri T.T. Jagannathan were conferred the Padma Shri. The Hon'ble Governor felicitated the awardees present and Smt. Latha Jagannath, wife of Late Shri T.T. Jagannathan, who received the honour on his behalf.
Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker G.S. Patil, Legislative Council Chairman Salim Ahmed and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
