CIS hosted their 6th annual Terry Fox Run. Dr. Prasad from Cytecare Cancer Hospital addressed the gathering of over 800 participants. The run kick started at 8:45 AM sharp with participants running, cycling, and biking throughout the run route around the Yelahanka Lake. There were participants from schools across Bangalore, including Stonehill, Bellaku, Trio World School and participants from colleges including Reva College and Jain University. The local community also gathered at the school to show their support for cancer research. The run raised almost 3 Lac rupees to be donated to further the cause of awareness and research for cancer.

The event is named after young Canadian Terry Fox, who was diagnosed with bone cancer when he was 18 years old and had to have his right leg amputated above the knee. While in the hospital, Terry was so moved by the suffering of cancer patients that he decided to run across Canada to help raise funds for cancer research. Called as a “fun run”, it is a non-competitive run and participants in the Terry Fox Run can use any non-motorised form of mobility — walking, running, cycling, skating and rally around the twin causes of cancer prevention and awareness. All participants will got a certificate irrespective of the distance they covered. Corporate partners also showed their support  including Kinley, The Huda Bar, Britannia, Columbia Asia and Sterling Developers.
