He was addressing the gathering at the Amrit Mahotsav programme of Dr. Basavalinga Pattadevaru Mahaswamiji of Hiremath Sansthan, held at Shri Channabasavashram in Bhalki, Bidar district, in the presence of Hon'ble Vice President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan.

The Governor said that the life of His Holiness Dr. Basavalinga Swamiji is an inspiring example in itself. He noted that the 75-year journey of the Swamiji symbolizes not merely longevity, but the culmination of experience, knowledge, and penance. He emphasized that true greatness lies not in position, prestige, or wealth, but in sacrifice, compassion, and service. Swamiji, he said, dedicated his entire life to the upliftment of society, the spread of education, and spiritual awakening.

Highlighting his ideals, the Governor remarked that Swamiji not only upheld the principle "Service to humanity is service to God," but also exemplified it through his life. He described Swamiji as a multifaceted personality—a spiritual guide leading people towards inner peace, a social reformer committed to eradicating societal evils, and an educationist striving to remove ignorance through knowledge.

He further noted that Swamiji's vision has led to the establishment of several educational institutions, benefiting thousands of students with quality education. Swamiji viewed education not merely as a means of employment, but as a tool for holistic life-building. The Governor also lauded his significant contributions to women's empowerment, emphasizing that Swamiji consistently advocated for women's education, self-reliance, and dignity.

Referring to the Bhagavad Gita, the Governor said, "Yogah Karmasu Kaushalyam," meaning excellence in action is yoga, and noted that Swamiji embodied this principle in all his endeavors—be it education, social service, or spiritual guidance. He urged everyone to adopt Swamiji's core values of service, dedication, and spiritual discipline to lead meaningful lives.

Quoting Swamiji's message to the youth, he said, "Keep your goals clear, uphold strong values, and remain consistent in your actions—this is the true formula for success." He called upon all to imbibe and follow these guiding principles.

Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Minister Shri Eshwar Khandre, and other distinguished dignitaries were present on the occasion.
