"The development of individuals, families, and society is unimaginable without women. Education is the most powerful tool to transform the world, and when it empowers women, it lays the foundation for a progressive society and a strong nation," the Governor said.
Highlighting India's unique position in cultural, democratic, economic, and military strength, the Governor observed that respect for women has been an integral part of the nation's history, scriptures, and Puranas. "Our Constitution guarantees equal status to women and empowers states to take affirmative action to strengthen their role in society. Women's reservation is one of the steps that ensure their equal participation in public life and nation building," he stated.
Referring to the remarkable presence of women in medicine, engineering, education, security and other fields, Governor underlined that women have not only played a key role in India's freedom struggle but continue to be instrumental in its progress. "Your contributions are vital in making India a developed nation and in safeguarding and enriching our environment," he told the graduating students.
Applauding Maharani Cluster University's legacy in advancing women's education, the Governor said, "The knowledge and skills you have gained here will not only help you achieve professional success but also instill a greater responsibility towards society. Along with your degrees, you carry a new identity as responsible citizens and future leaders." He extended his congratulations to all graduating students for their dedication and perseverance.
On the occasion, the university also conferred honorary degrees on eminent individuals who have made exceptional contributions in promoting and preserving religion, culture, and social welfare. The Governor congratulated the honorees, appreciating their continued service to the nation.
The event was attended by Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar, Dr. Sabiha Bhumigowda, former Vice Chancellor of Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University, Dr. T.M. Manjunath, Vice Chancellor of Maharani Cluster University, along with other dignitaries.
