Referring to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, Shri Gehlot said, "The vision articulated by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is a comprehensive national mission aimed at transforming India into one of the world's leading nations. It is not merely a government programme but a collective aspiration and commitment of 140 crore Indians."
He said that as India progresses towards the centenary of its Independence in 2047, development must be viewed in a holistic manner encompassing self-reliance, scientific innovation, social harmony, cultural consciousness and moral values, rather than economic growth alone.
Emphasising the importance of interdisciplinary learning, the Governor observed that science, commerce and humanities are no longer isolated disciplines. While science drives innovation and technological advancement, commerce facilitates economic development and efficient resource management, and humanities provide ethical guidance, social awareness and human values. A balanced integration of these disciplines is essential for building a developed nation, he added.
The Governor highlighted that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 promotes multidisciplinary education and seeks to nurture well-rounded individuals capable of addressing contemporary challenges. Quoting the ancient Indian maxim, "Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye" (Education is that which liberates), he stated that education must empower society by eliminating poverty, inequality and discrimination.
Shri Gehlot said that Indian culture has always emphasised introspection and self-realisation. When individuals understand their strengths, responsibilities and duties, they naturally contribute to society and the nation. Self-realisation, he said, ultimately leads to national consciousness and nation-building.
Calling upon the youth to imbibe self-confidence, discipline, ethical values and a spirit of service, the Governor noted that a strong and responsible youth population forms the foundation of a strong nation.
The Governor further stated that India is making remarkable progress in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Quantum Computing, Space Science and Green Energy. He stressed the need to harness science and technology for the development of rural India, particularly in agriculture, healthcare, education and rural entrepreneurship.
Highlighting India's achievements in innovation and entrepreneurship, Shri Gehlot said that the country has earned global recognition in startups, digital payments and technological innovation. Today's youth, he remarked, possess the potential not only to seek employment but also to create employment opportunities for others.
Recalling the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, the Governor urged young people to embrace self-confidence, sacrifice and service as guiding principles in life and dedicate their energies towards innovation, constructive action and national service.
Describing Bengaluru as a global hub of knowledge, innovation and technology, he noted that Karnataka continues to lead the nation in education, information technology, biotechnology and entrepreneurship. Institutions such as MES, he said, will play a significant role in accelerating India's journey towards becoming a developed nation.
Expressing confidence in the institution's future, the Governor said that with its newly acquired autonomous status, MES College would scale new heights in research, innovation, industry collaboration and skill development.
Mysore Education Association President Shri S.S. Ramdas, Dr. S.C. Sharma, MES Executive Head Dr. Hariprasad, Principal Dr. Adarsh H.G., faculty members, researchers, students and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
