

The Governor, along with Hon'ble Vice President Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, attended the 7th Commemoration Day of Param Pujya Dr. Sri Shivakumara Mahashivayogi at Sri Siddaganga Math, Tumakuru. Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji dedicated his entire life to the principles of Annadasohi, Vidyadasohi and Akshardasohi, adding that service was not merely a duty for him but a profound spiritual practice.
He noted that Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji served humanity selflessly, transcending caste, creed and religion. For his unparalleled contribution to society, he was conferred with several national and international honours, including the Padma Bhushan in 2015. The Governor described Sri Siddaganga Math, with a legacy of over 600 years, as a revered centre of spirituality and social transformation that has played a vital role in the nation's social and religious progress.
The Governor said the Math continues its mission of empowering society through education and socio-economic transformation, promoting equality, excellence, entrepreneurship and enlightenment. Remembering Dr. Shivakumara Mahashivayogi as the embodiment of sacrifice, penance and service, he called upon everyone to adopt and practise his ideals in daily life.
Paying homage to the great saint and the rich traditions of Sri Siddaganga Math, the Governor appreciated the leadership of Jagadguru Sri Siddalinga Mahaswamiji for carrying forward the legacy and taking the service spirit of the Math to global dimensions. He remarked that Indian culture, preserved and propagated by saints and sages since ancient times, continues to inspire universal brotherhood, peace and harmony across the world.
Praying for universal well-being, the Governor invoked the blessings of Dr. Shivakumara Swamiji with the message, "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinaḥ, Sarve Santu Nirāmayāḥ."
Union Minister of State V. Somanna, State Home Minister G. Parameshwar, Sri Siddalinga Swamiji, Peethadhyaksha of Sri Siddaganga Math, Member of Parliament Govinda M. Karajol, Sadhguru Sri Madhusudan Sai, and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
