

In his address, the Governor emphasized that students should aim to achieve new heights of success and contribute meaningfully to nation-building. He encouraged them to actively support national initiatives such as 'Make in India' and 'Vocal for Local' in order to realize the vision of a "United India, Better India and Developed India," and to work towards transforming India into a developed nation.
Highlighting the importance of adaptability in a rapidly changing world, he noted that continuous learning, innovative thinking and a strong sense of social responsibility are essential in today's competitive era. He advised students to constantly upgrade their knowledge and skills to meet evolving challenges. Referring to the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Governor said the nation is progressing towards the vision of "Developed India 2047," with youth playing a pivotal role in achieving self-reliance, economic empowerment and global leadership.
Speaking on education reforms, he observed that the National Education Policy 2020 has ushered in a more inclusive, multidisciplinary and skill-oriented education system. He underlined that education today extends beyond degrees, serving as a foundation for life skills, ethical values and social responsibility. He also stressed the need to address pressing global challenges such as climate change, global warming and environmental pollution, and called for proactive efforts in these areas.
The Governor further remarked that the university, named after the renowned writer and thinker Kuppalli Venkatappa Puttappa (Kuvempu), draws inspiration from his ideals of universal humanity, equality and progressive thought. He urged students to imbibe Kuvempu's values and contribute towards building a more humane and inclusive society.
Minister Dr.M.C.Sudhakar, Chief Guest Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Vice Chancellor Prof. Sharath Anantha Murthy and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
