Season 2 of the Global e-Cricket Premier League (GEPL), conceptualised by JetSynthesys, a global leader in digital entertainment and technology, concluded with a high-stakes finale at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, marking a key milestone in the league’s evolution. The final day featured four intense matchups, with Chennai Falcons emerging as champions, followed by Mumbai Grizzlies as runners-up and Delhi Sharks finishing in third place.

Beyond the gameplay, the finale also saw all franchise owners committing to a three-year journey with GEPL — reflecting their strong belief in the league’s format, its future potential, and its growing relevance in the rapidly evolving esports landscape.

The finale drew participation from a strong slate of stakeholders, including actor and entrepreneur Suniel Shetty (Owner – Pune Stallions), investor and philanthropist Sara Tendulkar (Owner – Mumbai Grizzlies), Peyush Bansal, Founder & CEO of Lenskart (Owner – Delhi Sharks), Nikhil Kamath, Co-founder of Zerodha, Ankit Nagori, Curefoods Founder, and Prashant Prakash, Accel India partner  (Co-owners – Bengaluru Badgers), and Gopal Srinivasan, Chairman of TVS Capital Funds Limited, Madhusudanan R, Chairman of TVS Capital Funds Limited, Arjun Santhanakrishnan, Group CEO GS Global Group (Co-owners – Chennai Falcons), and Amit Mehta, Director, LNB Group (Owner – Hyderabad Rhinos).

Commenting on the commitment, Suniel Shetty said, “This isn’t a one-off investment — this is a belief in the future of sport itself. With GEPL, we’re witnessing the convergence of cricket’s legacy with digital sport’s future. A three-year commitment is just the beginning; we’re in it to build a platform that inspires, engages, and scales.”

Arjun Santhanakrishnan added, “When we came on board, we saw promise. Today, we see proof. The gameplay, the fan response, the infrastructure — GEPL has laid a strong foundation. A long-term commitment wasn’t a tough decision; it’s a strategic one, because the future of esports in India will be defined by formats like these.”

Reflecting on the symbolic nature of the finale being held in Bengaluru, Ankit Nagori said, “Bengaluru has always been a city that backs the future — and eCricket is very much part of that. GEPL isn’t just a tournament; it’s an ecosystem. Committing to three more seasons is about backing that vision and giving it room to grow.”

Sara Tendulkar, who has been involved since the early stages of Season 2, shared, “GEPL excites me for the opportunities it brings to dream big in e-sports. What has drawn me to the league is its focus on youth, giving them the freedom to be themselves and find their niche. Being from Mumbai, my connect with the city’s franchise - Mumbai Grizzlies, was instant. There is a lot of potential in India for e-sports, and we’ve only just got started”

Speaking from a business and innovation perspective, Peyush Bansal said, “Our goal is simple: To ensure that gamers can enjoy their passion without compromising their eye health. The digital gaming community is growing rapidly and so is the need for high-performance eyewear that helps them hustle through extended gameplay sessions. We want gamers to play at their best, and we are committed to building eyewear that enables that.”

Amit Mehta shared, “eCricket is creating a new kind of athlete — one that’s digital-first but driven by the same passion and discipline as traditional sport. GEPL’s structure and community focus make it a meaningful platform to invest in. Our commitment is about backing young talent, early, and consistently.”

Rajan Navani, Founder & CEO of JetSynthesys, said, “Season 2 has shown us what’s possible when a strong format meets long-term thinking. With some of the country’s most respected business and young minds backing GEPL for the next three years, we’re not just building a league — we’re laying the foundation for a new kind of sport in India. The commitment we’ve seen this season sets the tone for the chapters to come.”

Rohit Potphode, CEO, GEPL, said, “With every season of GEPL, we’re seeing stronger participation, deeper engagement, and growing belief in eCricket as a legitimate, mainstream format. The commitment shown by all franchise owners reinforces the long-term vision we’ve always had for this league."

With Season 2 wrapped, GEPL now enters its next phase with clarity and commitment. Backed by franchise owners for the long haul, the league is poised to grow deeper, sharper, and more influential in shaping the future of eCricket in India.
