

Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized the significance of such events in nurturing values, ideals, and a spirit of excellence. "Events like these celebrate our core values and play a vital role in shaping the character of our society and young athletes," he remarked.
Reflecting on the historic legacy of the Bengaluru Golf Club, established in 1876, the Governor highlighted golf as a sport that demands patience, focus, discipline, and mental resilience. "Golf teaches us that success in life can be achieved through continuous practice, self-discipline, and positive thinking. Observing the enthusiasm among young players, I am confident that India's future in golf is promising," he added.
He further noted that sports contribute significantly to physical, mental, and intellectual development. "True sportsmanship is reflected in maintaining humility in defeat and composure in victory," he said, commending the Bangalore Golf Club not only for promoting the sport but also for its commendable efforts in environmental conservation, youth development, and social responsibility.
The Governor also acknowledged the efforts of both the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka in implementing effective sports development schemes, the results of which are now visible. He encouraged athletes to make full use of these initiatives to bring pride to the state and the nation.
