Launch of World Storytelling Competition 2025

Following the resounding success of last year’s edition, the World Storytelling Competition 2024 saw enthusiastic participation from 500 schools across 15 countries, with 13,065 young storytellers captivating audiences through their heartfelt and imaginative performances. Students from countries including the Philippines, New Zealand, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, Oman, and Sri Lanka demonstrated the powerful impact of storytelling as a form of expression and cultural exchange.


Building on this momentum, the 2025 edition promises to be even more exciting, with a wider reach and enhanced experiences for both students and schools.


Competition Details:


Participation Mode: Online video submission


Eligibility: Open to students across five age-based categories (Grades 1–8)


Submission Deadline: 31st July 2025


Participation Fee: US $10 per student


Story Choice:


Participants may select a story of their choice or pick one from the curated list on the official website www.worldstorytellingcompetition.com


Students are to retell the story in their own words, using creative expression and imagination


How to Participate:


Parents/Guardians record a video of the student narrating the story


Submit the video through the official website: www.worldstorytellingcompetition.com


Encouraged Elements:


Costumes, props, puppets, cutouts, and themed backdrops to enhance storytelling impact


Awards & Recognition:


All Participants Receive :


Digital Participation Certificate


Free access to the “Budding Storyteller Program” worth $100

Organized by GEMA Education Technology, a Dubai-based EdTech leader, the World Storytelling Competition is one of several prestigious global events designed to empower students through interactive, creative, and educational initiatives. With a network of over 6,000 partner schools worldwide, GEMA offers student exchange programs, after-school clubs, Olympiads, summer camps, webinars, competitions, and more, creating a robust ecosystem for student development.
