Through the lens of stories and research, the book illustrates that young people are not defined by their adversity and with the right support they can thrive. It is an attempt to create a mindset shift among young people and the ecosystem and really understand what young people need in order to thrive. The book takes a long-term view of the efforts by educators and social workers in providing care and support to young people facing adversity. Additionally, it chronicles Dream a Dream's growth as an organization and its role as a thought leader in the education ecosystem.
Commenting on the event, Dr. Connie K Chung, said, "Through this book, my aim was to amplify the voices of those who have overcome challenges and to highlight the commendable efforts of Dream a Dream in bringing in positive change in the lives of these young people. The book not only shares stories of change but also underscores how proper support from caring adults can help young minds thrive and lead their communities I am looking forward to sharing more of these stories at the fireside chat and panel discussion"
