The Entrepreneurship Development pilot project is also being implemented in Karnataka. The project commenced with an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp at Nanjangud, at Bhavasar Bhavan, Gowrighattada Beedhi, on Wednesday, 15 February. The program was inaugurated by Ms. Akshatha Shetty, Manager, Indian Bank. Over 200 women from various self help groups and individual home makers participated in the program. What was heartening to note was the level of interest women showed in looking to start their own home based enterprise.
The next phase role of the program which will include 15 days entrepreneurship training program for beneficiaries will commence in Vijayapura, Mysore, Nanjangud and Hubli.
A press brief from NIESBUD stated “It was heartening to note the overwhelming response received from women beneficiaries for the commencement of our Entrepreneurship Pilot Project in Nanjangud, Karnataka. There is an urgent need to empower and enable them in creating a world where we have more job providers than job seekers. The program will also add a road map to growth and entrepreneurship.”
