Jain International Trade Organization (JITO) is a worldwide body of Jain businessmen, industrialists, knowledge workers and professionals in various fields reflecting their glory of ethical business practices.
JITO's Vision and Mission mainly focuses on Economic Empowerment, Knowledge and Service i.e. Aarthik Sudradhata, Shiksha and Seva of the community and the society at large.
As the 21-day nationwide shutdown comes into effect, Jain International Trade Organisation – Bangalore (JITO) have stepped up efforts to tackle the challenges posed by the Covid-19 situation and the consequent socio-economic impact on the weaker sections of society.
Aided by Jain Community donors JITO started its work to tackle the crisis and help out vulnerable sections of the population, especially vendors, daily-wage earners, gig-economy workers and planned to distribute packaged meals to vulnerable groups in Bangalore during the lockdown.
JITO Bangalore got all necessary approval from BBMP and also got list of needy people who were stuck in this unexpected shut down. JITO started distributing up to 46,000 packed meals a day from 29th March to 14th April and again in shutdown 2.0, from 15th April to 3rd May, 24,000 packed meals everyday to daily wages workers, construction workers, contract labourers, slums and weaker section of our society across Bangalore city.
It has successfully completed more than 11.25 lakh meals till 3rd May 2020 in this JITO Manav Seva Project.
It made master kitchen setup with packing section at Palace Ground with 30 members cook team, 50 members Packing team, 30 members cleaning and hygiene maintaining team with permanent sanitizer team and setup 8 transport vehicles to 8 different route of Bangalore city for food distributions and 2 big vehicles for raw material, vegetables and packing items pick up with Driver and Helper, total we have 30 members for logistic.
JITO planned the Distribution routes viz., 1. Mysore road – Nayandhalli, 2.Peenya – Makali Tumkur Road, 3.Cantoment – Jogupalya – Udaynagar – KR Puram, 4.Adugudi-Bommasandra-Electronic City – Anekal, 5.Magadi Road, Sunkatkatte, Machohalli, 6. R.T Nagar-Ganganagar-Hebbal-Sahakarnagar-Jakkur-Yalhanka, 7. Rajajinagar – Vijaynagar-Magadi Road 8. Austintown, Ashoknagar, BEL Road, Sankey Tank & other City area like Akkipet, Cottonpet, Gandhinagar, Sheshadripuram, Vyalikawal, Malleshwaram, Srirampuram where many volunteers were picking up self and many places we were delivering for their convenient.
100 volunteers were working at distribution spots and 100 volunteers working at route plan and other support work with 25 committee members. All together 500 members working as staff, volunteers and committee members.
We maintained all safety measure of COVID-19 like cleanliness, mask to every worker & volunteers, sanitizer facilities at every point, social distancing by distributing work location wise, we also provided for team Identity Passes, ID Cards, T Shirt and Cap and Banners for vehicles for easy servicing to every centre.

JITO Blessed during this process of 11 lakh meal with our Deputy CM Sri Aswath Narayan, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Sri S Suresh Kumar, Food Minister Sri Gopalaiah, Bangalore Central MP Sri P C Mohan, Bangalore South MP Sri Tejasvi Surya, UDIPI-Chikmangalore MP Smt Shobha Karandlaje, BBMP Commissioner Sri B H Anilkumar IAS, Mayor Sri Goutham Makana,Standing committee Minority cell Chairman Sri Kumar Bangarappa,Congress Party President Sri D K Shivkumar, Gandhinagar MLA Sri Dinesh Gundurao,Yelhanka MLA Sri S R Vishwanath, Appreciation letter from CM office and there was regular visit by many politicians and bureaucrats for inspection and guidance to do better and kept motivated entire JITO team for this Manav Seva Project.
