
He was addressing the gathering after presiding over the first convocation of Bagalkot University. The Governor highlighted that universities play a vital role in fostering innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, skill development, and research. He noted that in the present era, creativity and innovation are key drivers of success, and urged university administrations to encourage students to experiment and innovate so they emerge as job creators rather than job seekers.
Stressing the values necessary for success, Shri Gehlot said that continuous hard work, discipline, and a positive mindset are essential in life. He remarked that failures are an integral part of one's journey, and true success lies in learning from them and moving forward. He also underlined that education attains real meaning only when it reaches the last person in society.
The Governor further observed that the world is undergoing rapid transformation due to advancements in science, technology, and innovation. He pointed out that fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, biotechnology, and the digital revolution have opened up new opportunities while also posing fresh challenges. In this dynamic and competitive environment, he stressed the need for a lifelong learning approach, an innovative mindset, and a strong sense of social responsibility. He encouraged students to continuously update their knowledge and skills to remain relevant in changing times.
Referring to the vision of a developed India, Shri Gehlot said that under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation is progressing towards the goal of "Developed India 2047." He emphasized that youth have a decisive role in achieving this vision, as they possess the energy and potential to lead the country towards self-reliance, economic empowerment, and global leadership.
Reiterating his message to students, he urged them to remain committed to hard work, discipline, and positivity, and to ensure that their education contributes meaningfully to society, especially by reaching the most underprivileged sections.
The convocation ceremony was attended by Chief Guest Dr. Bhimrai Maitri, Vice Chancellor Professor Anand Shadar Deshpande, and other distinguished dignitaries.
