Karnataka Secures Second Place in the National Kalaripayattu Championship

Second time the team from Karnataka secured the second place in the recently concluded National Kalaripayattu Championship held in Thyagaraj Sports Complex, Lakshmi Bai Nagar New Delhi.


The event were organized by the Indian Kalaripayattu Federation - IKF (Recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, New Delhi). The event was held in three categories sub junior, junior and seniors. More than 350 participants’s in the age group of 6 to 45years, from 15 different states of India participated in the event. Girls and boys were represented in full force.


Team Karnataka were the first runner’s up in the overall championship with a total of 42 points from all event categories. Kerala and Uttar Pradesh secured first and third place respectively in the championship.



The participants from Karnataka bagged 2 Gold, 7 Silver and 11 Bronze:


Lakshmi Suresh and Nitya Vasan Nair from Parashurama Vallabhatta Kalari Academy (PVKA) secured Gold


Ananya Santhosh, Adri Mukund, Preethi, & Rashmi D Dagwar from Parashurama Vallabhatta Kalari Academy (PVKA) secured Silver and Hari Harasudhan & Bhavana Bipin from MSG Kadathanadan Kalari secured Silver Medals.


Adithya Prathap, Arun Kumar. A, Adidev.Binumon, Leanna Rose Joy, Nayana Udayashankar, Raghunandhana, Lakshmi Suresh from Parashurama Vallabhatta Kalari Academy (PVKA) secured Bronze. Bhavana Bipin from MSG Kadathanadan Kalari secured won Bronze.


The Felicitation was done by Hon.Minister Dr. Mahesh Sharma (Ministery of Culture, Government of India) Krishna Prathap Gurukkal, Parashurama Vallabhatta Kalari Academy, Bangalore was honored at the event.


Hon. M N Krishnamoorthy IPS (Retired DGP) President Indian Kalaripayattu Federation, Advocate Poonthura Soman Hon. Secrerty General IKF, and KC Krishna Das, Chief Coordinator IKF attended the ceremony.
