Synopsys, Inc. (Nasdaq: SNPS), a global high-tech leader helping customers innovate from Silicon to Software today collaborated with Parikrma Humanity Foundation, unleashing the potential of underserved children for Parikrma Festival of Science supported by Synopsys. Bharat Ratna awardee and eminent scientist Professor C.N.R. Rao will inaugurate the festival and Headmaster Babar Ali will deliver the concluding address. The three-day festival will host over 200 students from 8th standard across 40 different schools in city including international, private and government schools. The students will learn science behind air and its multiple facets first-hand through leading scientists of the city and know significance of air quality in everyday life.
Young students will collaboratively learn and discover with scientists and academicians on significance of air through several workshops in aerodynamics, weather patterns, air pollution, impact on insect flight and bird flight. Furthermore, students will also get to test air quality and study clouds in real-time basis to learn impact of climate change and get an understanding of individual and institutional responsibilities. The students will also get to present their learning and exhibit it through presentations in a “Hackathon and Mock Parliament”.
“Our inherent aim is to highlight the fact that learning STEM subjects has to be interactive and hands-on and Parikrma Festival of Science supported by Synopsys is an annual event for students from international and government schools. The festivals held have always resulted in private projects (post-festival engagements) that children undertake resulting in long-lasting sustainable benefits,” said Shukla Bose, CEO of Parikrma Humanity Foundation.
“At Synopsys we understand the importance of STEM education and collaborate with Parikrma to inspire and stimulate next generation of scientists and technologists and simultaneously enrich the life of underprivileged students. We enable the advanced electronic devices of today and tomorrow and by actively partnering with local organizations like Parikrma we aim to bring about academic as well as economic vitality in the community we work in,” said Dr. Pradip K Dutta, Group VP and MD of Synopsys South Asia.
