Abundant opportunities in Wellness Sector says PWD Minister H C Mahadevappa

Bengaluru which has gained importance as a start-up hub in recent years has abundant opportunities in the wellness sector, PWD Minister H C Mahadevappa said her on Thursday.


Inaugurating Shathayu Retreat in the foothills of Avathi village near Bengaluru International airport, he said that Shathayu Ayurved has been playing a vital role in the wellness and health tourism sector.


Dr Mahadevappa said that Shathayu Ayurveda, which has a legacy of 117 years, has popularised the traditional health system across the country and abroad.  Based on the Kerala model there are abundant opportunities in the area of wellness sector for the state and needs to be harnessed jointly with the tourism sector, he added.


Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy, who participated in the inaugural function, said that treatment with the help of naturopathy was very effective. The efforts of Shathayu Ayurveda in this direction is laudable, he said.


Managing Director of Shathayu Ayurveda, Dr Mrutyunjaya Swamy, who spoke on the occasion, said that Shathayu Retreat which is located in the lap of nature is an ideal place for naturopathy. The treatment here incorporates not only physical well-being, but also mental and spiritual well-being, he added.


Dr Swamy said the treatment adopted here is a blend of biomedicine and traditional medicine. A person’s health is taken into consideration and the ideal treatment is chosen for the individual, he said.


Dr Anitha, CEO  of Shathayu Ayurveda, who spoke on the occasion said that at Shathayu Retreat, along with Ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy is also use in the treatment according to individual needs.


Kannada film actor Pooja Gandhi, MLC Byrati Suresh were present on the occasion.
