The event was a beautiful blend of nostalgia, pride, and forward-looking optimism, attended by board members, leadership, faculty, parents, and students.

This year, CIS was incredibly proud to welcome back one of its own as the Guest of Honour: Mr. Vignesh Nambiar, a distinguished CIS Alumnus. Addressing the graduating class, Mr. Nambiar shared reflections on his journey after walking the very same halls, inspiring the graduates to embrace risks, remain resilient, and push past conventional boundaries—perfectly embodying the spirit of this year's theme.

Leadership Reflections

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Shweta Sastri, Managing Director, Canadian International School, expressed her pride in the graduating cohort: "The Class of 2026 has shown exceptional grit, intellect, and creativity. Our theme this year, 'To Infinity and Beyond,' is a true reflection of their limitless potential. At CIS, we have always strived to nurture global citizens who don't just adapt to the future, but actively shape it. I am confident that these young leaders will take the values of compassion, integrity, and lifelong learning into the world and make a profound impact."

Dr. Ted Mockrish, Head of School, also shared his thoughts on power of joy and celebration: "Today was a wonderful and joyous occasion for so many families at CIS who have been with us through the years.  The sense of humour that pervaded throughout today's speakers from our Guest of Honour to our Valedictorian, it's great to see joy and happiness in this very special day for our seniors.  I wish them all the very best in their future".

Voices from the CIS Community

The ceremony also highlighted the deep partnership between the school, its students, and their families, featuring emotional and uplifting perspectives from the community:

From a Proud CIS Parent: "Today was a very emotional, very touching and very sweet ceremony.  It was hard to say goodbye," Ms. Verghis on her son's graduation.

From a Representative of the Class of 2026: "Today was really fulfilling.  It was so nice to see my classmates receive awards that they worked so hard for.  I am so glad that my classmates were recognized as they are usually students who don't seek out recognition," Mohini, Class of 2026 Student Council President.

As the ceremony concluded with the traditional throwing of the caps, the Class of 2026 officially joined the global network of CIS alumni. Equipped with a world-class education and a mindset geared for the infinite possibilities ahead, they are ready to redefine what is possible.
