ELCITA (Electronics City Industrial Township Authority), supports several governments and non-government environmental initiatives that can bring a more sustainable environment for all. ELCITA aims to help reduce trash generated by single-use plastic utensils used during events.

As part of their sustainability and public service initiatives, ELCITA has announced a ‘Steel Cutlery Bank’ on its premises on 12th December 2019. This initiative will allow the general public to borrow steel cutlery and utensils for their events and parties. This service is based on the “Take it, Use it, and Return it, All for Free” motto. ELCITA invites people to borrow cutlery and utensils from their Cutlery Bank by depositing the security amount. The security amount will be refunded upon the return of the cutlery. This free service is available for individuals and corporates.

“ELCITA is launching cutlery bank, yet another initiative to bring down single-use plastic. Cutlery bank includes steel plates, cups, tumblers and spoons available for use in and around electronics city free of charge. This we believe will encourage event organizers to avoid paper plates, paper cups or any single-use plastics. Request companies, employees and the public to make use of the cutlerybank@ELCITA”, said Ms. Rama NS, CEO, ELCITA.
