A Football Complex with the state-of-the-art artificial football ground with flood lighting as per the FIFA standards was inaugurated at HAL Sports Club here yesterday by Mr. V. M. Chamola, Director (HR) in the presence of former Indian football team captain Baichung Bhutia, Mr. Shekhar Shrivastava, CEO (Bangalore Complex, HAL) and Mr. Arup Chatterjee, Director (Engg., R&D, HAL).
Speaking on the occasion, Bhutia hailed the facilities created at HAL and described the Complex as one of the best in the country. He urged youngsters to take up the game in all earnest and make use of opportunities.
A friendly game was played between HAL Football Academy and Baichung Bhutia School of Football on this occasion.
“This is dream-cum-true for all of us. We are proud to have created the football infrastructure that matches the international standards”, said Mr Chamola. Mr. Shrivastava said HAL Management would provide the much needed support in the coming days as well and develop the infrastructure further.
