Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for transportation, announced the launch of ‘Har Din Lakhpati’- a virtual lucky draw for its auto rickshaw driver partners across six cities such as Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Every Ola Auto driver partner will receive a coupon for every five rides completed which will then be eligible for the lucky draw at the end of the day. The winners of the lucky draw in these cities stand a chance to win a sum of Rs. 1,00,000 every day. In Chennai city, the driver partner who completes the most number of bookings in the evenings will win. In addition to the lakhpati winner, three other driver partners from each city stand a chance to win Rs. 10000 every day.
Speaking about the campaign, Siddharth Agrawal, Sr. Director and Category Head- Auto said, “Ola has constantly innovated to meet the unique mobility needs of millions of Indians by integrating traditional modes of transport like Auto Rickshaws onto our technology-enabled platform. This has also made a massive difference to the lives of hundreds of thousands of auto driver partners who move the real India. Ola Auto has become synonymous with short rides use cases in the 73 cities it operates in. We believe that we are still scratching the surface and there is a lot more opportunity to help partners grow their business on the Ola platform. With initiatives like these, we are looking to provide an opportunity for our driver partners to realise their true potential as entrepreneurs and grow with Ola.”
Kathirvel J, winner of Har Din Lakhpati, Chennai, said, “Since the time I have joined Ola, I have seen a steady growth in income and this has helped improve the standard of living for me and my family. Like Ola’s many other large initiatives, this one has been the talk of the town amongst driver partners.” He further added, “I was lucky to be the lakhpati last week. I am extremely thrilled and hope that my hardworking colleagues also become lakhpatis through this initiative.”
Ola has rolled out multiple programs for the driver partner community that enables them to earn better and encourages micro-entrepreneurship. Ola also creates engagement programs from time to time, like Ola Partners League (OPL), partnership with cricket academies to offer scholarships to driver partners’ children, and helping drivers file their income tax returns. With initiatives like these and skilling programs, Ola is enabling hundreds of thousands of driver partners to enhance their wellbeing and that of their families.
