Dr. K.S Krishna Reddy – Secretary, PWP & IWTD, Govt. of Karnataka is appointed as chairman of Karnataka Centre for Indian National Group of International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering (ING-IABSE).
The ING-IABSE Karnataka centre will deal with all aspects of structural engineering: the science and art of planning, design, construction, operation, monitoring and inspection, maintenance, rehabilitation and preservation, demolition and dismantling of structures, taking into consideration technical, economic, environmental, aesthetic and social aspects. The centre will organize technical talks, seminars, technical lectures regularly from eminent speakers locally, nationally and internationally. These technical information will be relevant to existing ongoing projects for further sharpening the skills of engineers either in design or in construction. This also will be a forum in the Karnataka for exchange of technical information and ideas for betterment of Government and private projects. The centre will be of immense use for Engineers in Karnataka for all categories in government as well as from private sector.
ING-IABSE (Indian National Group of International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering) Karnataka Centre was inaugurated on 9th May, 2019 by Sri. K A Thippeswamy - Hon’ble MLC and Parliamentary Secretary to Hon’ble Minister for Public works, in the presence of Dr. K.S Krishna Reddy – Secretary, PWP & IWTD, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri. M Ganesh – Chief Engineer, National Highways, Govt. of Karnataka, Sri. B S Shivakumar – Managing Director, KRDCL, Mr. R Jaiparasad - Advisor to Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. Harshvardhan Subbarao – Vice President- IABSE, Mr. R K Jaigopal – Member, Indian Roads Congress.
