International Copper Association India (ICA India) in association with the Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning Trades Association Ltd (RATA), aims to create awareness on the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) technology and its advantages, among the air conditioning industry professionals, consultants, dealer service providers and end users.

VRF heating and cooling systems ensures energy efficiency, flexibility and improved comfort in small to mid-sized commercial buildings. ICA India endeavors to promote VRF systems into the Indian workplaces and institutions for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency. The VRF technology is designed to offer the utmost desired comfort level while saving significantly on operational costs.

The term VRF refers to the system’s ability to control the quantity of refrigerant flowing to each of these small air handlers thereby ensuring desired comfort level in part load conditions. The objective of the seminar organized by ICA India was to discuss and deliberate the design, selection, installation and maintenance of VRF systems.

Elaborating on the topic, Avinash Khemka, Chief Manager- HVAC, ICA India said, “We at ICA India are proud to play our part in spreading the knowledge of the VRF technology that can help in energy efficiency and lower carbon footprint in the country. VRFs are becoming popular because these are energy efficient as the refrigerant flow is regulated based on need.VRF systems have been popular in Europe, Japan, and China for many years, and with cumulative focus on the environment, they are gaining in popularity in India as more and more companies look into making their buildings more energy-efficient.”
