It was a memorable evening on Saturday when the national award winning artistes were honoured by the Department of Information and Public Relations and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy. The glittering programme was dedicated specially to the winners of the 65th national film awards (these prestigious awards were announced by the Directorate of Film Festivals on 13 April 2018 and the awards' ceremony was held on 3 May 2018).
On the occasion, the team of Hebbet Ramakka was given a thunderous applause as their team walked on the dais. Hebbet Ramakka was adjudged as the best regional movie (Kannada) at the 65th national film awards. The film's technical crew-Shri NR Nanjunde Gowda (director), Shri SA Puttaraju (Producer) and Smt Kavita Raj (Producer) were felicitated.
The Paddayi (which was adjudged as best regional movie in Tulu) team was also felicitated. The movie's director Shri Abhaya Simha and producer Nityananda Pai were honoured. On the occasion, Shri JM Prahlad who won the award of best lyricist for the movie March 22 (For the song "Mutthu Ratna"), was also felicitated.
Speaking on the occasion, Academy president Shri Chandrashekar Kambar said it was a privilege moment to honour the state artistes who had made the country proud. Commissioner for DIPR, Dr PS Harsha said, "Karnataka was a treasure of talented artistes and the DIPR department was doing its best to encourage the artistes and richness of the Kannada cinema." Hebbet Ramakka movie was also screened on the occasion.
Dr SG Siddaramaiah (President, Kannada Development Authority), Dr Hamsalekha (Well-known music director), Shri SV Rajendra Singh Babu (Well-known film director) and Shri P Sheshadri (Well-known film director) were present on the occasion.
